Thank you for this informative interview! I saw Dr. Chey a few months ago and he was super nice. Unfortunately his recommendations did not help me, my SIBO test came back negative, his nurse was not very helpful, and I had to wait so long to get in to see him for my follow-up that I gave up and went to a naturopathic doctor instead. I have to pay out of pocket but she spends an unbelievable amount of time getting to know my diet and symptoms. The low FODMAP diet definitely helps with flatulence but did nothing for my bloating. I just started on digestive enzymes and so far that seems to be helping. I'm not sure Dr. Chey or any mainstream provider would recommend enzymes??? I get the sense that in five or ten years we'll have a much better handle on all these digestive problems, but some of us can't wait that long! :)
