Yes, I was finally tested and told I had Sibo after reading and researching on my own and pushing my new GI to test me. My GP Dr. never diagnosed it and I have lost weight and just labeled unexplained weight loss with no testing or treatment. I request a nutritionist. I was told it was not covered in my health plan that was two years ago. I was treated with the medication, but I’ve always felt there needed to be follow up after taking this medication in May 2026 There has been none. I’m looking for a skilled dietitian to help me manage this to coordinate with a doctor. I’m also looking for a new physician because I feel my physician failed me.

I found a good supplement for my SIBO called Siboprin from Approved Science. It’s not pricey and it has worked for me. Have been taking since early December. One capsule in the morning, one at night.

Is Xifaxin the only drug to treat SIBO? This is considered a high tier drug in the US and if you are on Medicare – it now costs $1000 for the recommended 14 day course of treatment. I was told to take it 3x a year to keep my SIBO in check.
